OCPL Safeact is developed for internal safety reporting and observation management within our organization. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and your rights regarding that information.

Information We Collect

Location Data

We collect location information where necessary to support safety features (weather, incident locations, emergency response). Types and uses include:

  • Precise Location (GPS) — exact coordinates via device location services.
  • Approximate Location — network-based or coarse location for general area context.

How it is collected: Through device APIs such as Geolocator / LocationManager and app location requests (e.g. location.getLocation(), Geolocator.getCurrentPosition(), LocationManager.requestLocationUpdates()).

How we use location data:

  • To display current weather and environmental information relevant to outdoor work and safety planning.
  • To record the exact location of safety incidents and observations.
  • To map and analyze safety trends across facilities for workplace safety management.
  • To assist emergency response teams by providing location context when required.

Sharing & storage: Weather queries may be proxied to weather service providers (only to fetch weather). Location data for weather is processed in real-time and not permanently stored unless required for a safety report. Safety-related locations are stored securely in our internal systems and may appear in internal reports and analysis.

  • Incident descriptions, photos, and attachments

Weather & Environmental Data

We show weather, alerts, and historical patterns relevant to workplace safety. Weather providers may receive location data only to provide the service.

Device & Usage Data

  • Device type, model, OS and app version
  • Network information, IP address and device identifiers
  • Crash reports and performance analytics (used to improve the app)
  • Usage analytics (feature use, time spent, interactions)

How We Use Your Information

  • Usage analytics: Anonymized and retained for app improvement.
  • Deletion requests are processed within 30 days unless legal obligations require otherwise.
